Private Sector & MSME Development
Since its inauguration, ENTRUST has contributed significantly to private sector and SME development. We are renowned for
our efforts in this domain, due to our firm belief that the private sector is a primary engine for growth. We are recognized as a
pioneer in enhancing SME competitiveness, influencing SME policy, providing technical assistance, and contributing to the literature on SMEs on both levels: national and regional.
Some of our significant efforts in this sector include our work with the Social fund for Development (SFD), as the primary
coordinator of MSE development in Egypt; to develop a Product diversification study; for which we used both quantitative and
qualitative research methods. Towards this end, ENTRUST conducted a market review and positioning strategy which
focused on aligning SFD objectives and capacities with market conditions, with the end result of identifying products and
services that are in demand.
As an SME policy expert, ENTRUST was also hired by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) to provide
on-going advice on policy and programming issues pertaining to SME development in Egypt. Hence, ENTRUST will continue
to play a pivotal role in enhancing the role of the private sector and SMEs in Egypt and the region, as a whole.
